Is it possible to determine a baby's eye colour before it's born?
For example with my current bf if we ever had children ( not saying we will, we are young) is it possible to figure the coloour of there eyes out? on my dad side they all have dark brown eyes on my mums, my mums mum has blue my mums dad has green my mum has hazel, i have brown dark brown. My bf has Bright blue eyes, his mother does not, is there a way to determine the chance?
Well brown eyes are dominant over blue eyes but it depends on your and your boyfriends genes.
You carry a recessive hazel gene, I think, from your mother, but because brown is dominant over blue and hazel, there`s a strong chance your baby will have brown eyes and a small chance it will have hazel.
Either way, you could almost be sure, but every baby is born with blue eyes coming out of the womb. They later develop(or stay the same) a permanent eye color. Your baby will most likely have either have blue or brown eyes. But the trait can be heterogeneous meaning it won’t match up with either one of you.
well for your boyfriend to have blue eyes he has 2 recessive genes which we will use aa. And you have a possibility of having Aa or AA. There are course other combinations but if you have a recessive gene that gets passed down your child will most likely have blue eyes. But there is a high probability your child will have brown eyes
Not sure cause I have Brown eyes But my husband has Blue. My Son has Brown BUT My Daughter has Blue…. So, beats me!
