It is normal for students to develop feelings for a teacher, especially when that teacher seems very caring and nice. The problem for the teacher is that having any sort of unprofessional relationship with a student can be very bad. If your teacher has never had a student attracted to him before, you can be sure that he is as uncertain as you. It might be a good idea to speak to your school councellor about it, explaining how you feel, what you did, and how it turned out. Your teacher may be willing to talk to you with another trusted adult in the room - this would be a less threatening situation for both of you. Don’t be worried that he won’t like or respect you - if you try to deal with this maturely, he will be much more comfortable and more likely to deal maturely himself. I hope things go well for you!

He’s probably trying to save his career! Even talking to you about it is risky…let it go, let him off the hook…This is a very slippery place for a teacher these days…not that he’d act on it, just that if ANYONE should simply “think” he might, could end his days as a teacher…
