How do I stay friends with someone so dramatic?

Friends like that are a bit hard to handle but it doesn’t mean you can’t tame them. The important thing is that they respect you and that they can also listen to your needs at times. It’s going to be a bit delicate but you’ve got to broach this subject with her, though very very gently (so she doesn’t have a fit). You’ve got to find a quiet time when it’s just you and her and find a gentle way to tell her that sometimes you feel she doesn’t listen to you and you feel she can be really hurtful at times. This type of person needs a lot of reassuring so be sure to repeat how much you love her as a friend. basically you’ve got to get across that you need her to listen to you as much as you listen to her. also, you’ve got to learn to not take her too seriously. if you react to her drama then this encourages her to go on and make a scene. don’t be afraid to tell her that she’s over reacting or just try laughing stuff off and distracting her unto another subject. dealing and communicating with others is an art. you should congratulate yourself on being so patient and trying your best. she really has got a good friend in you :-)
