Can dogs be lez, gay, bi, or straight?

I’m not sure about dogs but I know these birds were going extinct and there were only 2 males left and a female. The species died because the two male birds liked eachother and wouldn’t mate with the female. O.o

Dogs are almost always straight. There’s not too many animals that can actually engage in other sexual acts. Some examples are the domestic chicken, cats, some fish, brown bears, rats. There may have been, perhaps, one or two cases of a dog, but it’s extremely rare.

That’s the thing…animals only have one sexual preference; the opposite sex and a while back Humans were like that too…They know they can not reproduce with their own sex so they don’t waste their time… IS THERE A LESSON TO LEARN HERE?? hmmm….

Many animals show “gay” behaviour, its not all that uncommon in the animal kingdom. I have never heard of dogs doing it though. Dogs will hump those of the same sex, but it is not sexual, it is dominance.

Ellen, Are you saying that humans are wrong to have same sex relations, because you think other animals do not? As you have been proven very wrong, does that now mean that you will feel its ok? Maybe I am misunderstanding your comment, but its sounds like you are homophobic. : (

Humans have been displaying homosexual tendencies back in the Greek times, it was actually common and many men had young boys as lovers, its not a recent thing and there is no lesson to be learn from. Animals also have homosexual tendencies. My cats, i have 3 of them, 2 male and one female but my young male cat doesnt both the female and is constantly humping the male. There are many other animals that also are gay. People dont need to learn from animals. We have evolved beyond the point of animals and are capable of feeling strong emotions such as love where in most cases animals are not. As humans we dont solely look for people to reproduce but to build a strong connection with and to love each other. If people choose to build that connection with the same gender then it should not be looked down upon, and i think that people learn from gays (sorry if that sounds rude) because they are more willing to love people for who they are. Yes animals do tend on having homosexual tendencies but it depends on the animal.

Homosexuality has been reported in over 300 species. Its not a simple choice in most cases. Certain genes have been shown to alter sexual preferences in animals, and aside from that, many genetically “normal” animals show homosexual behaviour also. In many species its a normal way of bonding.

But anyway dogs and animals, including humans because that’s what we are, animals, will do whatever we feel like to get off. Reproduction is a by product of sex. A dog doesn’t actually know he is going to reproduce when he humps another. He just knows that he has an urge that he has to satisfy. Homosexuality is a fact and its really sad that people actually still deny it just so that they can feel straight! Good for you ellen! By the way, the world is also round. Just another history fact that I thought you may not know. And there isn’t an increase in homosexuality. Just an increase in acceptance. You are soon going to become the minority.

You really make no sense, Renaldo. Please back up what you’re saying with facts. You took Ellen’s post and made it something else. Statistics have shown an increase in gays, look it up anywhere. I highly doubt your silly ideas are going to create life in the 50’s….

No. They can’t. Because those terms are uniquely describing human behavior in some cultures. They include a lot of connotations and subtexts that go beyond just sexual behavior. Lets not put human labels on other animals. Those labels don’t even transverse all cultures, let alone all species. Homosexual sexual acts have been noted in other species. Same sex parenting has been noted in other species. But you really can’t use those labels on other species.

I’m not sure about dogs, but I happen to own a gay cat. And I love him even more for it. <3

Statistics have pretty much been around since the beginning of math. And they obviously never showed that you could fall off the edge of the earth.
