What's the best thing to do about my dog who fights my neighbours?

Should i keep them appart or introduce them to each other slowly?

I’d keep them apart, you wouldnt want anything to happen and end up in court.

Some dogs will never get along, but it is certainly worth trying..just slowly and carefully. You should take the two dogs to neutral ground, best somewhere where they can be let off lead (if possible exercise both dogs before they meet so they are a little tired out). Let them go and watch them very carefully. Don’t freak out and get all tense, dogs feed off our emotions. You need to stay calm and assertive. If possible have a bucket of water with you encase a fight breaks out. They will try to hump each other, they may grumble and growl a bit, let them work through it.

You could also try taking your dog for a walk at the same time as your neighbor and walk the dogs together. The problem I find with this approach is ogs tend to be more aggressive on lead and you could get caught in the center if a fight did break out.

Most of all, be calm and patient and be the pack leader.

If they fight, I think that you should keep them apart and always have your dog on a leash. I can understand wanting the dogs to get along, but if they don’t, then it’s seriously unnecessary to put them together for them to just fight more. It hurts the animals and gets no one anywhere. It may just lead to serious issues later on (injury to animals or law suit).
