As long as you care, and want to help, I think you’ll be fine. Just remember that most people call a crisis line because NO ONE ELSE WILL LISTEN!!! Be a shoulder to lean on!

Why not? You give good advice…plus, when you work at a crisis center, they give you training on how and what to say…You’ll probably learn things there, that you can use here…

I think that you’ve got experience both asking and giving advice. You know what it feels like from both sides. You care, and would probably be good at it. Even if you don’t get it, don’t give up - keep in touch with the people doing the hiring, maybe even volunteer with them, and something will work out for you. I got a job I really wanted one year just because I went in every day and asked if there was a position available yet. They hired me just to get me out of their hair! I ended up working there for four summers! Go for it, and have fun!
