I don’t believe that the Physx card is required for ANY 3-D Modeling Software. Now, it might be require for real-time particle animation, but I can’t clarify that. I think the more bones and joints your model has, the more likely it will render improperly without one. I was at a demo of the Physx card, and they were animating a curtain with a ball thrown into it. When the animation was rendered without the card in use, the ripples weren’t smooth and it didn’t look quite right. Hope this helps?
