Why is there so much disrespect toward the LGBT community?

The regular people who love the same gender people and alot of people act as if they are murdering someone. If you think about alot of the art work, and men and women back then were homosexual probably denial about it but they were. It’s their business who they love just like it’s your business who you love. Your choices your actions your business your life. I understand people judge other people all the time but to push people over the edge because of their sexual orientation. Because you don’t agree with it? I mean you don have to be best friends with them but as least have the respect. There have been many murders and sucides of the younger generation some as young as 13 and even younger becquée they aère licier on at School. And peolle cheer this on like its a good thing. If they arent putting you in danger, risking your life, safety or health leave them alone. The fact that some people take it in their own hands such as to kill them off like they are infected spieces or something

Answer #1

In all honesty, they see it as a religious thing. The most common religions in the world forbid homosexuality as a sin. Me personally, it doesn’t matter who you love, that’s your choice. But people seem to think that God hates gay people for some reason, which isn’t something I’ve ever read, so they act out violently sometimes. I don’t understand why they think that helps anything, but they do. Look throughout history, people have always hated certain groups, and then realized it is wrong to hate someone just because of what they look like or their beliefs. I think the world is slowly becoming more accepting of gay people, and for that I’m thankful.

Answer #2

Well, with all due respect, God does not hate anyone. He loves us all, and any anyone who repents is forgiven. I work with a gay guy and can’t help but like him cause he is just a very kind and honest person, however he and I don’t agree on this subject so we don’t discuss it anymore. God is love and people who misinterpret the scripture and act violently are also in the wrong.

Answer #3

If this was really an issue of religion, people would go to ja.il for committing adultery (you know, it being like basically mentioned twice in the 10 commandments as compared to homosexuality which was mentioned a handful of times in the entire bible). People have always used religion to justify their bigotry. Look at the justification for slavery, and then for the treatment of African Americans after slavery was abolished. There’s disrespect because people are small minded bigots. And they have to have something to hate or they cannot be content with their lives.

Answer #4

I understand that people are becoming more accepting, but I’m still hearing teens using “no homo” or slurs when talking to their guy friends.

Answer #5

I think you misunderstood me. I believe god loves all of us, but some people are underfur assumption that god hates gay people. That is not my opinion at all, but some DO think that.

Answer #6

Okay, but the separation of church and state prevents people from being arrested for religious reasons. Yes, people do abuse religion in justifying bigotry, I agree with you on that point.

Answer #7

Yes, that’s true. And honestly, I catch myself saying “that’s gay” on occasion, even though I don’t feel any hatred towards gay people. I have been trying to stop, and all the anti-bullying things are really helping, I think. Even the NBA has a commercial saying that it’s bad to say “that’s so gay”. Change takes time for people to adjust. But I really do see our society becoming more accepting or the lgbt community.

Answer #8

I know it takes time, and I can’t wait until all 50 states allow same s*x marriage, and allow adoption for them as well. along, with other the rights. But let’s start with marriage first and then work out the other issues. haha One issue at a time.

Answer #9

I appologize, I did read your answer wrong. I see what you meant now. Best regards.

Answer #10

I with you on that one. I don’t understand the reasoning of people who are against gay marriage, and especially gay parents adopting.

Answer #11
