Did you ever use washington mutual?

Years ago, I had a bank account with washington mutual. However, I was fraudelently charged a series of transactions, and then when I arrived in person to the bank to complain (their phone service was terrible) the teller kindly informed me it must have been “the internet” that caused the problem.

However, while in the branch, I heard no less than 15 other customers complaining to other tellers about the exact same company fraudulently charging them, and apparently, they either didn’t call OR got the same bad service on the phone that I did. To me, the mistake was too large to ignore, so I closed my account within two weeks after the fact. Now I read this morning the fed bailed them out…and, to me, I say good riddance. Any company that treats customers like dirt deserves to go out of business, I know it’s sad for the employees, BUT, I haven’t read about a single employee led strike against the executives there for silly policies that cost them customers & business.

So what was your experience like with Washington Mutual, if you ever did business with them?

I agree with Ty. The customer service department doesn’t cut it. It’s terrible. I, sadly, still have my “virtual money” with them. And to hear JP Morgan Chase buy them out, hopefully they’ll make some changes. If not, Citi Bank doesn’t seem to be doing too bad. Off to them!

They used to handle my mortgage…oh well…why am I bailing them out! I want to see some heads roll…CEO’s

Their customer service is awful! I sat there for two hours one day, I didnt see anyone around to help or to explain what the delay was about, and since there were 6 people in line in front of me I gave up and left…
