Dark armpits?

why are my friends armpits dark? I dont get it. she shaves like she should. maybe its cause shes dark skinnned? hmm, I don’t know. but id really like to help her get rid of it. she wont wear tank tops casue of it. is there anyway she can get rid of it?

I don’t know answer, but I wish I did, because I have the same problem. It doesn’t always bother me, but sometimes it does, because at times it looks like my armpits need to be shaved, even though I just did it.

It could be a couple of things, these are things I’ve come across…

Friction due to tight blouses and tops that brush against the skin, Excessive sweating Infections due to improper washing of underarms, Shaving Dead skin buildup, Chemicals alcohol strong fragrance in deodorants. http://www.home-remedies-for-you.com/remedy/Dark-underarms.html

There’s also a condition called PCOS that is often accompanied by insulin resistance which causes dark patches… Does she have irregular periods by any chance?

I have the same proplem, my armpits always look like they have stuble. It is really embarrassing and I HATE wearing tanktops. I have tried expholiating(sp?) and I have tried swithching soaps and razors, nothing ever worked UNTIL! my friend told me to put on some mens deoderant like ax the really wet stuff then shave. IT didnt make it go away totally but it did make it go away some

Does she have dark hair? Maybe its the hair follicles(sp?).
