How do I connect my phone to my PC?

What kind of phone?

Is it compatible with your version of windows? If you have the manual handy, it should say if it is…

also, is the software you installed up to date? The cell phone company may have a more current version available at their site.

Samsung f480i. I’m using the program that came with the phone, and I’m pretty sure it’s compatible, my brother has the same phone and it’s worked for him… but normally, even if there’s no program on the computer, it shows up as new hardware on My Computer…

Have you tried updating windows? And the phone software? It may be as simple as an incompatible driver on windows. To fix that, update your operating system, and then re-install the phone software and it should work.
