If she’s happy, so you should be.

That doesn’t mean your support comes without concern for her safety, however.

Should you be happy? Yes! Will you be happy? Probably not. It’s hard to see our children growing up and going out to face the world on their own. It’s even harder when it’s a daughter and she is choosing to join the military where she may be subject to hardships and possible harm.

Your consolation is that you have raised her properly and given her the knowledge and experiences necessary to allow her a good probability of success.
