Concerning "Blood"
I recently got into a small conflict with my parents. My parents seem to think that for an example:
A person has AIDS. Or some other disease, and for some reason they are bleeding and you get blood on your hands/skin that you will catch the disease.
I disagreed. I said that Your skin is a protective barrier against things like that. That only if you had a cut, or it has gotten into your mouth or eyes or other parts of your body that has a open area that only then will it transfer the disease to you.
Am I correct?
Being as it’s blood and not just sweat, I’d be concerned anytime I came in contact with blood on my skin - there may indeed be a slit in my skin, a splatter I didn’t notice, etc - so I would definitely avoid and if exposed thoroughly wash the area asap - so I side with your parents, it’s possible if the skin is broken and you’re not aware.
yes. unless somehow the contaminated blood seeped in through your pores (I don’t know if that’s possible) , you can’t get a disease or virus. still, you should wash up really well. : )
No, you aren’t correct. The skin has openings such as cuts and tears from everyday use that you can’t see or feel. If you get HIV infected blood on your skin, it is unlikely, but definitely possible to contract the disease.
yeah you’re technically right. but if you get blood on your skin I think you still have a slight possibility of catching it. like if you dont wash your hand well enough or something it could still come in contact with an open area in your skin or eyes or something. but yeah you are right, but I just think that when you come in contact with blood, you’re at a risk.
welll the hiv virus dies when it hits air so yea…goodluck
Technically… but there are cuts and scrapes that you dont necessarily see…
Your correct but - there could be cuts that arent visable.
