What languages? And what do you want to translate?

You want a text to be translated correctly? Have a human do it. Machines can’t.

You want to look up single words? There are plenty of free online dictionaries. Most are completely reliable. But they can’t help you with grammar and they often miss figures of speech, My favorite is http://funadvice.com/r/3jsacg7782 for translating my native tongue (German) to many other european languages (English, French, Italian, Spanish, Russian).

I use Google translate at times, they are updated constantly by user submissions, but I guess it’s pretty decent. I failed though epically once when trying to send a Japanese message to a friend from over there…her language. and she still didn’t even understand what I said to her lol.
