College questions..

I have a few questions about college. I will be starting my senior year next week, and already am looking for colleges but I dont understand what some of the things they have on the websites are…

Whats the difference between graduate and undergraduate? What is a good school in michigan to go to for criminal justice? What is a paralegal? What would be some good courses to take for criminal justice?

Them are all I can think of at the moment.. Thank you so much.

Undergraduate is where you get your bachelors degree Graduate is where you get a degree after that, so it could be a law degree, a masters degree in a particular area, or a phd…

This site lists all the schools that offer this degree http://www.edref.com/college-degrees/protective-services/criminal-justice/michigan

Well wherever you go there will be a curriculum which you need to follow to get the degree, but these are some classes you may see

Alternatives to Incarceration Comparative Criminal Justice Systems Computer Crime Corporate & White Collar Crime Correctional Facilities in America Criminology Current Issues in Criminal Justice Domestic Violence Drug Trade and Trafficking Ethics & the American Criminal Justice System Introduction to Criminal Justice Introduction to Psychology Jurisprudence Juvenile Corrections Law Enforcement in Society Legal Rights of the Offender Mediation and Dispute Management Police Department Organization & Management Public & Private Safety Societal Issues, Crime, and the Law Technology in Criminal Justice Terrorism & Counter-Terrorism Women & Crime

Aside from the excellent advice above…if the process is confusing, get help. In person, they have a “counselor” who’s job it is, at most high schools, to help you with these things.

Involve your parents as well, especially if they went to college (even if they didn’t, they’ll need to be in on some of the paperwork).

Last…early admission deadlines are typically early December…so, you should already have your SAT or ACT test scores handy, if not, take them immediately.
