How is it that when i click to follow someone, i immediately get an alert saying that that person is following me?

When my first follower followed me it alerted me but after that it didn`t

I get an alert that says "blank is following you," i click on "blank" and it says "the following user is no longer on funadvi...

When i repply to a question or status it doesn`t alert me when someone else replies , i`m not shure if i have any other kind ...

So sometimes I add people it will say.. bla bla this person with have to aprove you bla blah, but sometimes it says I am now...

ill follow someone but they wont follow back... thats not how things work! :(
