what do you think about the child beauty pageants?

Adult beauty pageants are bad enough. Child beauty pageants are disgusting and borderline child porn.

I believe dressing your six year old daughter up to look like a twenty-five year old is ridiculous. They aren’t super models and they don’t need to be shoved into a stressed filled world so young. Children should be treated like children. In most situations I’ve seen and all the children beauty pageants that come on T.V., it’s never about the little girls at all. It’s about their mothers living their lives thorough their daughters. It’s pathetic and like billyshears said borderline child porn. You dress them up like women, parading them around, LETTING THEM GET SPRAY TANS..I mean seriously, how much more superficial can it get.

i think that it’s disgusting! 5 yr olds in heels is wrong and will fck up there feet! exposing children to the fcked up world of fashion is always asking for trouble. a child should be a child and enjoy being young and nieve. terlling a kid that they have to look a certain way to be conidered beautiful will give them insecurities and a warped concept of what real beauty is. From what i have seen of the kids that are entered into beauty pagents they are the playground bullies picking on kids because they think they’re so much better than them because there parents have told them nothing else. that’s why i love little miss sunshine, such a breath of fresh air! :)

i feel so sorry for these little ones, what kind of mother could put her daughter through all this, imo its the mother living her fantasy out on here daughter and its so sad, they dont have a proper childhood, and are being taught that beauty is more important than whats underneath

it’s completely rediculous. I mean 4-6 year olds in heels, fake nails, tans and pounds of make up piled on their faces. REALLY??! I don’t have a problem with child beauty pageants if their dressed in cute little dresses and their hair combed in pony tails and frilly dresses as long as they aren’t wearing high heels and a lot of make up and stuff. As Brittany said, some of these children’s mothers are just living their dreams through their daughters and it’s sad and disgusting! ughh!

it’s really ridiculous! why would any parent want to force their small child to be something that they are not by dressing them to look like age 20 or more? why?
