Cell Phones/Sim cards

I am on my family’s cell phone plan right now…however I am strating college and moved out a few months ago so I want to get on my own cell phone plan. I am not sure though, if I want to keep my phone I have will all the info get deleted (especially since my parents are also canceling the phone plan and switching themselves) I wil still have cingular but just on my own so if I save everything to my sim card wil thta be enough? at least as far as the phone numbers go and can I still keep the same phone I have??

they place you get you phone has this fancy little adapter that you can sync all your info from one phone to another, atleast the sprint store where I got mine did, good luck. cause I know its a bummer having to readd everyone in your phone book.
