Why Do I Not Care About Sex Whrn I Take Xanax?

One of the side effects of xanax is changes in sexual desire.
It’s a side effect.
It may be due to hyperprolactinemia. As far as I remember that can be a side effect of xanax. Basically the levels of prolactin and dopamine can be altered by xanax, and this causes a change in the secretion of sex hormones. It causes decreased libido and infertility - both of these are completely reversible though, and it will go back to normal once you are able to stop taking them. Its nothing to be overly concerned with. If you are, you should talk to your doctor about it
Xanax effects the parts of your brain that control over excitment. For me it increased my desire while for many others it can completely make it none existant.
