I got my hair highlighted two days ago and it is way to highlighted. I also has a streaky effect to it and I want to go back to a more "safer" color for me. If I go to a hair dresser and have them put a color over top will it look funny?? Also how long should I wait to do so?

It depends what colour they put over it. Brown covers any highlights, but if you want to stay light then they would put a toner over it or some lowlights to make the overall look a bit darker. It shouldnt look funny as it's fairly easy to go from light to darker without anything bad happening unless you are going to extremes.
IT WONT LOOK FUNNY BUT SOEAKING FROM EXPIERIENCE I TRIED DOING IT MYSELF I HAD BLOND HAIR AND TRIED DYING IT BACK TO MY NATURAL COLOR THE DAY OF MY WEDDING AND MY HAIR TURNED GREEN SO PLEASE IF YOU DO DECIDE TO CHANGE GO TO A PROFESSIONAL..LOL
If you go from blonde to brown you must put a red colour through it first. This is the base colour for the red to prevent it going green.
