is there even a word?
I would say that you would have to really really love someone to be a willing " Slave " or to o anything for a person if it made them happy. I would also say that it is something that I am doing right now a that takes alot of thinking. Because if that person gets mad at you and tells you to do something that could cause you any pain or even death. You really need to think about it, if its worth it, if their wrth it. If you think that it would be best give that person a day or two then ask them, do you still want me to do this because I promise I will.
I believe what you mean with "slave-like position" is like what Filletofspam said, it's called to be "submissive" which is more commonly known (some places) as "to be a sub" in the "sub/dom" kind of relationship.
It's where you submit yourself to someone who is going to be dominating you like a slave or a pet. It isn't necesarrily in a masochistic way, can be different all depending what you're into.
I don't know too much about it in detail, but got few friends who are into it.

No there's an actual word describing someone in that situation, I cannot remember the word but I do know that that word IS out there.
Masochist is about the closest thing i can think of that would describe that. It means a person who enjoys pain, suffering, etc.
