Yeah, here in the US its kinda like that, some places will sell to minors, other will card you.. I honestly dont think its a law, its just that there arent many uses for a lighter besides smoking & I guess somone would conclude a minor doesnt have any reason for a lighter.
There is no law against buying lighters at any age in Canada, however (and here's the trick), you have to be 18 to buy lighter fluid. Most stores won't make a big deal about it, but it really comes down to store policy.
i think if there was an age limit that it would be 16. i bought a lighter recently from a local store in my town and it had a sign that said you have to 16.
I'm sure you have to be a certain age, I can't see a little kid being able to walk up & buy a lighter. That would be dangerous.
I wasn't aware that there were age limitations to buy a lighter in Canada. You can pretty much buy them at any age.
Unless it's just a law that most people just don't practice.
