You should just ask him out. If he says no, then move on and find somebody else that you like. Tell him how you feel about him and ask how he feels about you. You’ll never know unless you ask. Good Luck. :)

if you don’t ask him out you will regret it in the future. I promise you that in six months you will not regret asking this guy out ESPECIALLY if you are dating him. what you need to do is think about the positive things that can happen from asking him out instead of focusing on everything that can go wrong.
