Is it possible for me to write a book?

Okay so I’m wanting to use my free time and turn it into something useful. So I’ debating about writing a book. Do you think its possible? Does my book have to be thick? If I write a children’s book do I have to draw the pictures too? How do I put my book together? Eliminate the cover of it? How does this work? Thanks.

Oh, how much would it sell for??

If it’s something you want to pursue, it’s possible.

A book doesn’t have to be ‘thick’, you might start writing short stories and submitting them to magazines. Note that writing stories and books doesn’t mean that you’ll be an instant success- loads of writers got through dozens of rejections before they get published.

Writing childrens books- believe me, it’s not as easy as it sounds. Children can be pretty picky over books these days, with icons like Dora the Explorer, Thomas the tank engine, and various other icons flooding the market. You don’t have to do illustrations yourself, you can partner up with someone to do the illustrations, or some publishing firms will nominate someone for you if they are interested in your book.

Selling isn’t easy to calculate, as it all depends on how popular your book is, as well as how much the publishing firm takes, on top of publishing costs, advertising, etc.
