I was wondering if you have a really bad cold where you are coughting up the mucus and it doesnt come all the way up and you end up swallowing it, is that bad for your baby if you are pregnant?
no, its not dangerous for the fetus. coughing up mucus typically means you have a respiratory infection. probably not a bad one if thats your only symptom. the mucus comes from your lungs, so the baby will be fine. if you can spit the mucus out, that would be ideal. but if not, it can usually be cleared up with an over the counter cough medicine. dont take anything without consulting your doctor!!! some medicines have ingredients that will be harmful during a pregnancy, so its very important to speak to your doc about which ones are safe for you and the baby. hope that helps a little!
No you are fine...you are just sick I've had three babies and have had colds with all pregnancies. Your baby has all the same anti-bodies to fight the infection as you do until they are at least a few months old
I wouldnt think so because people cough up mucus when they are sick but if your concered bout it you should go c a docter just to b safe
