Baby poo

I heard this is normal but I still need more advice! My 2week baby is pooping yellowish& slimy with white seed looking things. She is formula fed too… Is that normal!?? Please help!!

Answer #1

It’s normal. Don’t worry - your baby’s poop is going to do some crazy things over time. He’s a newborn and is formula fed - that changes his poop and makes it different from breast fed baby’s. I formula fed my son and he had the same thing

Answer #2

If the baby is being formula fed, the yellow liquidy seedy poo is very normal.

The black bowel movements only last for a few days after birth or sometimes not even that long. My son only had one black bowel movement.

Answer #3

You’re both right - to a degree.

The baby’s first few bowel movements are greenish-black. This is called meconium.

After that has been passed the bowel movements should be yellow and very soft.

Answer #4

Accually newborns have hard, black poo, I really think you need to go to a doctor. and just to say breast fed is better for the child physically, milk made by mothers is proven to prevent child obesity. Good luck with your baby :]

Answer #5

what about the slimy mucus stuff?

Answer #6

My son is breastfed and his poop looks like that. His very first poop after he was born was black and tarry looking, but he’s six months old now, and his poop has been yellowish and seedy since.
