What is the Aryan race (read please)?

When most people say Aryan they refer to the NAZI ideal of Nordic characteristics. Blond Hair, blue eyes, fair skin, and supposedly superior intelligence and ability. Aryan can also refer to speakers of indo-European languages much as Arab refers to speakers of Arabic. It is more of a linguistic distinction than racial in this context.

Not directly on point to your question, but the same is true of “Semitic.” There are semitic languages, but the idea of semitic races is a racialist myth.

The Aryan race is the race seen to be “perfect human”. They were designed by the Nazi leaders who intended only select races to allowed to come together and in a way mass-produce offpspring to create the race. They would ideally have blonde hair and blue eyes. They men would be be strong and violent and the women would be able to have the “perfect” children. The races “acceptable” to become the Aryan race in Hitler’s eyes would be German and Norweigen. He also planned to have the British and American people taking part in creating such a race but obviously gave up after both countries joined the Allied forces. The Japanese were given an “honourary Aryan membership” for being German allies.

Aryan can also be those who speak indo-European lanuages.

man! ive been surfing the web for a while to find out more abt aryan origins and my roots lol. i have to say its confusing i don’t know what to make of it. i googled “ aryans of asia” and found some really interesiting stuff.

Indo-European is a language family… but it is connected with the diaspora of the corded ware cultures that spread throughout Europe… south into Anatolia associated with the Hittites… east as far as western China associated with the Tocharians… and into the Indian subcontinent associated with the namesake Aryans. Iran takes its name from the Aryan invaders who were described in the Vedic sagas. Along with similarities in language… cultural artificacts… and religion … there was a dissemination of the R1a… I… and to a lesser extent… R1b Y chromosome haplotpyes common in Europe throughout these regions. This suggests a similar genetic background.
