Are there many hurricanes in miami?

I would like to move to miami in the future but I want to know if they have many hurricanes in miami any answer is welcome thank you.

We’ve been lucky in the past couple of years (well relatively), katrina was the worst one in the last 5/6 years… and it left people without power and stuff, but it wasnt like andrew… it’s a pain… you just need to learn to live with it I guess…

Yes Miami has hurricanes. There are hurricanes all over the Florida/Mississippi/Texas areas.

Yes, we do. (I’m about 20 minutes north of Miami now, but I lived there for 5+ years for college and grad school).

Luckily knock on wood this season was just a couple of storms, but we will usually have at least 1 moderate hurricane every season, sometimes major ones. Andrew in 1995 ruined the roof of my house, and Katrina just a couple of years ago left me without power for weeks. They are not fun.
