I want to hire a new driver for my work, but the guy who seems the most qualified also makes me nervous for some reason. I want to do a background check of some sort, but I can’ t pay for one. Anywhere that gives free background checks?

I’ve heard of a few, but those can’t be very good - even the few paid ones we used before when we were considering hiring a nanny were not very good. A friend recommended hiring a private investigator, as they’ll have more resources to leverage to get the job done.

Though if it’s for your work, the paid ones are a tax write off - hope that helps.
