American phone numbers?

Ok so I want to text my friend from america but my phone won’t let me send the text unless it has +. Like in britain you get 07 at the start of a number..but sometimes its +44 insted of the 07…my question is what is the + number for america because I really want to talk to my friend…can anyone help me out? Cheers

The country code for the U.S. is 1. If you are going to call an American telephone, you have to dial the 1 before you dial the rest of the number. EX: 1-207-000-0000 1: country code 2: an example of a state area code. That one happens to be Maine. 3: Town area code. Didn’t use a real one because who knows if it is a real phone # 4: The last 4 digits are the individual numbers for the person who is subscribes to the service.

At the beginning.. …eg, if it’s (for example) 555 555 1212 Then to reach the number (or send a text) dial: 01 555 555 1212

is that instead of the 1 at the beggining or instead of the first two numbers in any american number?

No…it’s not “04” it’s “01”…
