What is better - American cheese or Swiss cheese?

It depends on what it’s being served with. American cheese is good for tuna, and swiss cheese is better for turkey and chicken. :)

I like Swiss with crackers or just Swiss alone. If you put Swiss with other things like a wrap, it doesn’t taste very good. It would be very plain. American would be great for something that needs a rich flavor. Swiss tastes pland and odd. I love Swiss but it has this strange taste that makes it hard to go with anything. This is just in my opinion. I would prefer American because I like that strong rich taste.

American Cheese is another name for Pasteurized Processed Cheese Food. It is an insult to both America and to cheese. There are thousands of distinct and delicious cheeses from all over the world. American cheese is a bland but unoffensive product designed to appeal to the lowest common denominator of tastes (children especially). Swiss cheese has a distinctive flavor that is great with some flavors and not with others.
