Everyone has depression - to what degree is what people care about.

Just do more things that make you happy.

ah reb, you really are ignorant when it comes to mental health, and yet for some reason you continue to pick mental health questions to answer…

not everyone has depression… see depression is a mental illness with set criteria… which most people definitely dont meet…

jazzii it is really hard to say anything from what you gave us… most people get upset when it comes to people they like… if you want you can try this test

but really the only way to know is a doctor/counselor

2 months is something to worry about…everyone feels sad from time to time, just get abit down in the dumps, it becomes depression (which is COMPLETELY different to sadness, depression is an actual disease) if it lasts 2 weeks or over.

everyone reacts to it in different ways but seriously I know its hard just get over your ex (or the guy you like). theres billions of people in the world- there isn’t just one guy out there for you. get out more with friends, meet a few guys, you might even get to like them!

make a list of everything good about your life. what amazing friends you have, loving family, nice clothes, rich maybe, attractive. then what you don’t like about your life

get a diary, write about everytihng you feel. even if you look back later and say “im such a wuss” it doesn’t matter! you can be truly honest with yourself in your diary. thatrs the point of them.

if it lasts much longer, and gets anymore serious (like you get suicidal thoughts) ring a suicidal hotline, you’ll probs find tonnes on this site, or see your doctor/physciatrist)

good luck! hope you feel better soon

You are at an age where hormones, emotions and even your brain are undergoing strong changes. It is natural to occasionally feel confused or depressed.

The best thing you can do is to talk to a counselor or therapist. Barring that, find someone you can communicate your emotions and thoughts with, sort of like a sounding board. Keeping your thoughts to yourself doesn’t help. If you can’t find someone around you then consider Fun Mailing someone on Fun Advice whose advice you like. It’s relatively private and gives you a good sounding board.
