How to keep my away message up on AIM when I talk?

I have aim 6.0 and when I put on my awaymessage and type again it goes off.. how do I keep it on even while im talkign to my friends?

while your signed on..hit the key “F7” it should take you to a settings menu where you can decided all of the junk like your away msgs, idle & mobile settings, default fonts, your buddy list etc.. then you go and select tthe setting you prefer. if the “F7” doesnt work..go to the very top of your buddy list and the tab the reads “edit” click on it and select the settings tab at the bottom of the drop down menu. funmail me if u need more help. =]

When you put your away message up, there are 3 checkboxes on the bottom. Check the one that says “Allow me to send messages while I’m away,” it should be the first checkbox. :)
