Afraid of cats

I am deathly afraid of cats. There are many cats in my neighborhood. Every time I try to walk my dogs (2 boxers & 1 chihuahua) I encounter a cat. I run, scream, everything to get away fast. This really stops me from walking my dogs much at all. I feel really bad b/c its my fear that wont allow them to get out much. Any suggestions would be helpful?

Well…my dogs hate cats also. I have to hold them back (the 2 boxers) if they catch a glimpse of one. I don’t want them to attack the cats. The less contact I have with them the better. I have heard cats won’t hurt me over & over & over (all my life). I don’t think you understand, I can’t even look at them, much less allow them to come up & “love on me”. I admit I have never had a cat in my neighborhood approach me, but what if one does. I’m just afraid. If I see one while driving, I roll up my window & speed off (like they will jump at my car or something..LOL). I know, I’m ridiculous. I think my fear only gets worst through the years :(

Well this isn’t really a suggestion - but cats will do you no harm - actually they love on people a lot , I have 3. And if they hiss at you it’s because of your dogs. Or if your alone they’re more afraid of you then you are them. But more than likely they won’t bother you.

I’m not sure what to tell you but that’s funny as hell to me. I can see you running..from a cat…to funny.
