how do I become an advisor?
Directly from FunAdvice's website:
"Who are advisors? Advisors are the official voice of Funadvice, and are users just like you and me. Users get promoted to advisors when they've either ranked highly by other users, or have just provided great answers.
How do I become an advisor? You can become an advisor by first providing highly rated and clear answers. Contact us with a few of the answers you've provided and we'll consider upgrading your account to advisor status
Many Advisors answer a question! Yes, multiple advisors (and you) can answer a single question. The first advisor to answer the question will be considered the "official" advisor, and they will be promoted as such on the question page."
Should you become an advisor do you enjoy certain privileges? Yes, you can read about it here
There you go..
We do not just look at the ratings - that is a very very small part of it. We look at your actual advice that you have been giving people and take the time to read through it and see if you have been helpful to people on the site.
If it went on ratings alone a lot more people would be advisors, we look at mostly every question answered to see if you are mature, great grammar, and have the experience needed to answer tricky questions.
We are not biased.
There are a lot of users on this site. If every single one of them deliberately did not rate answers or were biased (I.e. you managed to annoy thousands of people), uhm that would probably signal something was wrong...
What if people deliberately don't rate our answers or are bias?
