Acceptable?

Alright here’s a scenario:

It’s your birthday party. As part of the party, you suggest to your friends that they tie you up, so that you cant move. Despite, the torturous nature of the activity, you are laughing and are genuinely enjoying the experience of having “fun” and pretending to be a hostage on your birthday.

Do you think this is acceptable?

Sure, as long as they untie you when you ask them to.

A lot of kids do it. I have seen it done a lot with saran wrap (plastic wrap) at parties. Two kids get “mummied” up with saran wrap and then they try to knock each other down to see who remains standing. There are always a lot of laughs and fun in the process.

Young adults however, around the age of 16, are quite a wide variety of personalities. Some are obviously more mature than others at that age. And, very often, tho not always, some young adults about that age don’t always realize the consequences of their actions until it is just too late.

I know if I would have tried a prank like that at a party when I was that age, my buddies would have just left me laying there and gone home for the day. They may have laughed about it for years to come, and I would have been just glad that we didn’t have a swimming pool around.

Do I think it is acceptable ? Absolutely ! … but, I think it would be quite intelligent to have an older adult around in the background to take charge of the situation just in case it really gets too far out of hand, comes in control by the more immature of the group, or “just by accident” turns into a more serious situation.
