No, 3.96 is not good. It is excellent. Unless it is a result of institutional "grade inflation" (teachers giving undeservedly high grades to everyone); then it's just good.

depends on the school! but yes it is!!! i have a 3.6 GPA and im ranked 160 something out of 600. so it just depends how many kids go to your school

It's fantastic! My freshman year I had a 3.4 or a 3.6, I don't remember but my school counsler said it was great.

That's great! That's only .4 points away from perfect. You're probably in your top 10% if that's what you have.

Well, not necessarily people in your school. But it matters how many people are in your class/grade.

Yes!!!!!!! Anything above a 3.5 is considered honors at my school.
