why do they do this?

one of my nighbors cats had kittens this morning in a bush nearby and this morning i took her kittens and put them in a box and by the neighbors dor and as soon as the mom cat saw them there she took them right back into the bush where she gave birth and i was wondering why did she do that when they are safer in a box?

She must feels as if they are in danger and far away from her in the box then where its safe in her mind which is under the bush. What you may think is safe may be dangerous in the mom cat’s eyes

You really dont know much about animals? First of, dont touch their newly born babies. They dont like that. She will continue to move them, putting them in danger, if you touch them. Your perspective is not her perspective. You think, they’re in a box, that’s good. She thinks, they’re out in the open, where there are predators who could get them and kill them. You’re going to have to let mama take care of her babies. If the neighbors dont keep her inside, there’s not much you can do.

To mama cat, her kittens are hidden and safe where they were…..the only way to get them in a box and keep them there is to take them inside, and HOPE that mama will see that you’re wiser than she is….
