How long after taking antibiotics can you drink alcohol?

Answer #1

It can take up to 36 hours for some antibiotics to leave the body but you will be fine to drink 24 hours after you have taken the last tablet.

Answer #2

Some antibiotics can stay in your system for 7 days after you stop taking them.

It’s important for you to understand what it is you’re dealing with. These antibiotics in particular require you to be completely clean before drinking alcohol: Metronidazole, Tinidazole, Furoxone, Grisactin, Atabrine.

Anything else and you’re probably fine after 24 hours.

Answer #3

Most things say wait 48 hours, but it depends on the individual drug. It should say on the packet or leaflet that came with it. Leaving it 48 hours to get out of your system should do the trick though
