Writing a book. how to put texts in writing.

this is me. Asked by thisislove28 3 months ago, 3 answers.

I'm writing a book, and I'm trying to figure out what the best way to go about putting a text message in the book.
I was thinking

1. 'WHERE ARE YOU' [BOLD]
2.'WHERE are U?' [ITALICS]
3.'where are u?' [different font]
4.where are u? bold or italic

PLEASE...

HELP

cambei, I don't know what publisher you work with, but that's not how my publishing format works.

You don't underline anything in a book

You never double space

In certain cases, it's acceptable to use actual numbers

Oh, here...to make it easy, this is what my publisher requested of me:

We need your manuscript as a single word processing document created with Microsoft Word software.
Your book needs to be at least 48 pages or 10,000 words.
We prefer:

-An 8.5 x 11 layout with 1 margins all around
-Single spacing
-Just one space after all marks of punctuation (even after a period)
-Paragraphs indented with a single 0.5 tab (not the space bar)
-Times New Roman typeface
-Twelve-point type, and no headers, footers, or page numbering

Chapter Formatting

-If you want your chapters to begin at the top of the next page, please insert a hard page break (CONTROL+ENTER) at the end of each chapter to take the cursor to the top of the following page.

-Keep in mind that hitting the ENTER key several times to move the cursor to the next page will cause spacing problems when your 8.5 x 11 manuscript is repaginated for the 6 x 9 book size.

A text message should be written in *italics* using the method you would use in a text message:

Where are U? (include quotes)

wait! There is a proper format for writing a book.
To the person above me also...

1. Anything you want in italics should be underlined in your copy of the book.

2. the margins should be 1 inch all the way around the document. (in Word document there is the Formatting Palette which is a box next to your document usually, and just click the document tab and type in the margins for left, right, top, and bottom. If the Formatting Palette isn't there then go to view, toolbars, standard, and up comes a row of stuff you can use above the document. Click the one that looks like a mini document with an A in it, the one next to the 100% thing. No I don't think you're stupid; this is just in case. I have a lot of friends I teach how to use Word document...)

3. don't use numbers like 1, 2, and 8. Spell them out like one, two, and eight. Also don't use %. Spell percent. $ would be spelled, dollar.

4. Double space your document. When you bring it to a publisher it'll be easier for them to put notes down.
I suggest you write the book first and double space it afterwards.
