No! While they look like theybelong in the wild, macaws make great pets! However, if u
get one, bsure2 get a STRONG, and I mean STRONG,padlock, because they are feathered, big-beaked houdinis. And you shud get a BIG cage.Watch your fingers, because
they bite like hell! Good luk!
If it's not cruel to keep dogs, cats, hamsters, snakes, other birds etc for pets, than why would it be cruel to keep a maccaw parrot. It's just fine, as long as it has a spacious home, is kept fed and hydrated and you treat it properly. Think about it, if you don't take in a maccaw parrot, it'll just be kept in captivity anyway and someone who won't treat it right might end up buying it.
as long as the parrot was bred in captivity than I dont think it is cruel but if you know it has been taken out of the wild tha just think about it wuold you like to be taken and put in a cage that is why I would only purchase a captive bred parrot of any sort

Would it be cruel to keep a macaw parrot for a pet? They seem like such beautiful birds, and I know they can learn to imitate & speak a small amount of English, but I can't help wonder if it's cruel to have one as a pet. Thoughts?
