You might not have to get it pulled depending on your insurance you could get a root canal where they take the roots out if its to far down. But since you arnt feeling any pain you might be in luck. Dentists are very good at fixing teeth, so if you do go look for the right dentist for you because some of them can make it worse if not handled properly belive me lol I had that happen. Also I recomend if you are scared to get GAS it will make you feel more calm about things, and make sure you have enough novicane or however you spell it. Well hope I helped good luck.
I think things are a bit different from where I live (Northern Ireland, UK). As far as I know, I don't have insurance, and neither does anyone else I know. The clinic I go to isn't really big enough for me to be knocked out by gas, although I might want to find out if there's a way I can be. This tooth is a bit rotten I think, so I doubt that it can be mended very easily. I may have to go to either our hospital's day procedure unit or into Belfast city to find a better clinic. All I know is that I'm far too terrified to get the tooth pulled just by freezing it. They said a filling wouldn't hurt, but they lied. This is going to be far worse.
Half of my tooth is gone also and I just went to the dentist and she said the tooth was beyond saving and that I would have to get it pulled. The reason you dont feel any pain is probably because the tooth is dead.

Will my tooth need to be pulled out?
One of my teeth is badly broken. It feels like half of the tooth is gone. Where the middle of the tooth should be, there's nothing. Every time I eat, I feel as though bits of the remaining tooth is crumbling away. I'm also worried that the root may...
be exposed, but I can't really see much because it's at the back. I've never lost teeth except for baby teeth when I was a lot younger. I'm a bit scared of going to the dentist too. I'm not in pain, but it must be quite bad if most of the tooth is gone. I'm very nervous about what I'll have to get done. I get very anxious even when it's a filling. Will I have to get the whole tooth pulled out along with the root?
