When you get a tooth pulled...

Asked by annonomus 11 months ago, 6 answers.

This is something I've ALWAYS wondered about! If you have to get a tooth removed, does the dentist make up a replacement tooth if you want one? Like when you go and get one pulled can you say hey I'd like a fake tooth put in place of the one you...

pulled? Or is it just gone for good and you just have a blank spot where that tooth was?
I'm just curious because someone told me that they can make a false tooth. Is this a true thing or was that person lying?

It depends why they pulled it -
Often if a tooth is pulled that's because they are in the way, like if someone needs braces sometimes teeth need pulled so everything can be push back. Sometimes people need teeth removed for other reasons, and yes, there are such thing as 'fake' teeth.
People get their wisdom teeth removed because if not problems occur; discomfort, pain, etc. But since those teeth are in the very back of your mouth there aren't replacement teeth because it would be kind of pointless but if someone needs a visible tooth removed often something else will take it's place so the person doesn't look weird.

They can put in a false tooth if you would like. They are expensive but look real. the only challenge is matching the tint to your other teeth.

they can put a fake tooth implant, it cost around 1000 bucks for one, most people just lv it as a hole in there tooth if they cant afford it. you could get a bridge that that hooks to 2 teeth ... and fits in the middle.

Thanks everyone, I don't think I'll have to get mine removed *even though one IS cracked*... I think they can all be fixed. Oh and not to brag or anything but I have VERY good dental insurance so I think that if I ever needed a tooth removed that I wouldn't have any issues.
