Will I be able to raise enough money?

The other day, this company called World Challenge came to my school and told us about this trip to Borneo that we could go on, and it sounds really good, except the cost is $5900, (that covers airfare, food costs and accomodation for the whole 28 days.)not including spending money, with that, the total is about $7000 per person. We have to raise all the money ourselves within 18 months. I’m old enough to get a part-time job, and my friends and I have already thought of some other fundraising ideas. Do you think I can get together that amount of money in that time?

Ebay is good! Kate! We could sell stuff on ebay for the borneo thing! It’ll have to be quite a few things, but we’ll figure something out! I rekon breaking our backs finding the money will be worth it!

I think it’s possible, but it will be hard work.

When you break it up, you’re looking at around $390 a month you need to save, or about $98 a week. You might be able to do some things to help fundraise like bake sales, yard sales, selling your old stuff on ebay, school dress up days (have a theme, everyone pays a dollar to wear it to school on that day- you would need to get the principal’s approval). but that’s about the amount you’re looking at. Not to mention, you’ll probably have to pay for it before those 18 months are up.
