What makes oprah winfrey special? She seems to have a decisive say on the american presidential elections.What makes her different from other celebrities?

well she connect a lot with people and they can feel her realitly .over weight that make us see her more real .lol... and she gives a lot of gifts

Oprah's got that 'something'...charisma, I guess... A believability, and sincerity that has transcended the camera for over 20 years...I've never really agreed with her politically, but it doesn't stop me from watching and liking her...

She's a unique phenomena...it'll be a long time before the world sees another like her.

well she definitely wasn't BORN super rich. her popularity made her rich, so that can't be the answer. and also, I agree with phrannie.

I like her because some of the stories that she has on her show are very interesting. She is a good roll model because she had a bad life growing up and it goes to show you can proceed your dreams no matter how you were raised. Shes a good woman and a lot of people look up to her. Yeah, shes not always right... but nobody is. Shes great inspiration, and has made other successes happen (such as Dr.Phil, because he started on her show). I'm not a fan of doctor OZ though, he has SOME interesting stuff but I'm kind of bored of him.
