why its just not fair

Answer #1

Because that’s an age where people GENERALLY “mature” and can take on such responsibility and make good decisions.

Answer #2

because everyone knows that minors are a bunch of noobs!

Answer #3

because you are mature enough to pick who you want to lead the country

Answer #4

because most 18 year olds know better than to complain about things not being fair?

Answer #5

Simply a Rose to brighten your day,         And maybe lessen the cares in your way;         And also, too, to help you to know,         That in knowing you, many others grow!

There has to be some age at which people should first be allowed to vote. I think it used to be 21. I think the age of 18 was chosen because that is the age when most kids are in their last year of high school or have already graduated, so are most likely to be more aware of things going on in society and in government issues.

Granted, there may be SOME 15, 16 and 17 year olds who would make competent voters, but they had to set an age that was of minimum maturity overall.
