why do people say not to wear white after labor day? it doesn't seem to make sense

It's one of those wierd things designers say so they can get people to buy a different color pair on Heels. TO THE GOOGLE WEBSITE!!! ($_$)

I think it is an old wives's tale. People think that after Labor Day, Summer is over and you should start wearing darker colors. If you live in the South where it is warm year around wear any color you want.

Actually in the South, that "old wives tale" as you say is alive and rampant. We do not wear white after labor day because our parents and grandparents and great grandparents said not to. lol. Some people actually do look down on you if you wear white shoes after labor day. Sad, but true.
