Dont wear white after labor day?

I dont know what that mean, I asked my mom and she said "what?"... Anyone tell me?

Some people say that it has something to do with the temperature,because white reflects light and heat, wearing white would make you cooler in winter, and thus should be avoided It's to ensure that people only wear summer fashions during summer months.

I've asked someone that before..I think they said something about how people used to usually wear white while working...so labour day is like getting rid of that...I don't know haha !!

I think it's just some quote from an old movie where a girl said it to another girl to make her feel bad about wearing white. Ya know how quotes get carried on in gnerations.

I remember something about that from Serial Mom, the murderous mother is in court for murder, and they do find her innocent (even though she was guilty) there was a woman wearing white high heeled shoes, and it made her tick, and after court was ajourned. She killed the woman by hitting her repeatedly with a pay phone. Weird movie...lol

I'm Scottish but I've heard that in films and tv and stuff but I don't even know what Labour day is...obviously some American thing, what is it??
