Why do people like high school musical so much?

No offense to people who like it, but I just don't see what all the hype is about. I think some of the songs are cheesy and it definatly does not portray high school accurately, so why do people like it so much?

Ok, I have never seen the show and don't really plan to, but let me ask you something. Do musicals ever portray anything accurately?

lol I so agree with you. its a cute movie but I dont get why people care for it so much.. its like a bad remake of grease. but its from disney, kids love it and when millions of kids are watching it its like money signs in the eyes of the producers or w/e. and then people crave more. I don't know but in my opinion people love the idea of things being like that. it seems so great and wonderful and it puts a smile on peoples faces w/ the singing and dancing and its not like a lot of kids completely understand whats going on, the movie ranges different ages but then people get into it buy the stuff..pepople see that it sells and that its a hit and becuase it ranges throughout the world they make it bigger and it just keeps on growing and it becomes a big deal...I don't know thats just how I see it

Well, just let me tell you guys once, that I am probably the biggest High School Musical fanatic who ever lived. I know everyting about it! Disney has a knack of making excellent movies, and I think that High School Musical is their best yet! My anticipation for HSM 3 to come out in Theatres on Oct. 24th, 2008 is killing me!

Now, you're probably thinking, "but why?". This is why... High School Musical made me what I am today! It got me into theatre, singing, and dancing! I don't know what I would be or how I would live without High School Musical! It is just an excellent movie for all ages, and for anybody who likes music or High School challenges! On a scale of 1 to 10, I would give HSM #1 and #2 a: 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,007!

I have no idea. Because I hate high school musical 1 and 2. They are pointless and really retarded and corny! haha I really like Camp Rock though. It kinda had a bad script but it's ok it was still good, you could guess what was going to happen the whole time which I don't like too much but oh well.

I love high school musical. I think its so popular because its a clean, safe movie thats a heap of fun to sing and dance a long to. Id like to thank the person who asked this for saying no offence...but all those people who say its retarted, why do you waste your time answering questions about hsm if you think its retarted, I dont like screamo bands or emo bands or rock bands but do I go around saying its reatarted...NO. I love hsm and I think it great. Its about time that there is a clean and nice movie for everyone to enjoy. Zac efron is awesome and the target audience isnt even you!!! THANX TO DRAMA KID!!! I am also a huge fan of hsm and probs like it as much as you. I understand that you may not like hsm but dont call it retarted. JUST THINK OF ALL THE LITTLE KIDS WHO GET REALLY EXCITED WHEN THEY WATCH THE MOVIE..they enjoy it!
