Why do people hate Satanists?

I am a Satanist and whenever I telll anybody they automatically start hating me. Why is that. Why can’t people accept me for who I am? I don’t think a person’s religion should matter to others so much. I have friends with a lot of religious backrounds and I don’t treat them differently because of that. Why do people treat me with disrespect when I tell them my religion?

Answer #1

I believe the Bible and it clearly tells us what happens to Satan and his followers - they’ll be cast into the Lake of Fire forever - not the destination I’d choose but certainly you’ve free will to make your own personal choice - I respect your right to do so - who knows, maybe you’ll have a Damacus road experience before it’s too late.

Answer #2

Hi I am Luciferian, I got your back and I would regardless of my religeon, because I’m respectful of others. You’re no less an adult entitled to a path of your choice, and to criticize or discourage you in any way would be extremely cumbersome and rude on my part. What the satanist posesses is beautiful and sacred, because it’s a value and understanding of the SELF. Niot the opinion, likes and dislikes of those we care not for, and who quite frankly will never be worthy of truly knowing us for who we are. Many people are closed minded and uncultured as far as many things, not just Satanism. Many fail to realize, that without so called “Satan”, the so called “God” or “Jesus” wouldn’t much exist then either now, would he.. Anton Szandor LaVey even said the same thing…he was one of the most sacred and deeply intellectual persons ever. (To me, anyhow.) He was the father of Satanism and I found him to be an amazing man, whom I respect immensely for his contributions. He never criticized anyone who did not deserve it, notice that? A shining Satanist, with texture, heart, mind…we are unique. Being unique breeds many false friends and true enemies.. be unique anyways! F** them…who are they? I’ll not impose my belief on them, they should not impose theirs on us. I will not end up where someone else leads me, because no one else will lead me. I’ll be the captain of my heaven or hell or whatever, and that can either seise to exist or exist fully, here and now. Today..but only if I say so, not some other carnal human being expressing his cumbersome dislike for my personal path, which is none of his/her business to begin with. (Yeah, I just called you carnal! Get over it.) I strongly encourage everyone to look into everything, not just Satanism, prior to casting their judgement, which by the way really, is quite literally, not appropriate.

Hail Satan! Pandora

Answer #3

As a satanist, can you explain the correlation of Yankee Rose and Libertas? Was Mr. Levy, an illuminati? Perhaps at your next black mass you can inquire for me. I’m almost certain of the latter. Haven’t been able to completely deduce the former.

Answer #4

Orion I disagree I see a lot(not all) of Christians as Evil(to say the least)

I’m not a Satanist and I’m not to sure what it is about but I am an atheist. If God really existed, I would be a Satanist, infact if I were Satan I would destroy God, God is Evil, stupid, and Absurd.

Answer #5

Well, for those of you who are stupid enough to insult another religion, keep it up- guess where you’ll go.

And as for you all who dont inderstand why they hate us, it’s because deep down they know how powerful we can be.

They fear us because we are brave enough to stand against Jehova and the Norm

Answer #6

because when you tell people that you they automatically think you as some 1 who goes against God and everthing they believe in because people c satin as da ultimate evil and seein you as someone who would worship such a horrific figure give people a sense of fear slot of christians are stereotype and sum who commit unspeakable sins that goes against evrything bout da teachings o jesus christ its just human nature its like sports when you favor one team that someone else dont like they tend 2 stay away 4rm you because of your beliefs and opinion honestly not 2 offend you or any thing I think if you want more people 2 like you than its probably best if you dont bring that up in conversation otherwise just live your lyf da way you feel is right w/o havin other people opinions puttin you down keep in mind that evry 2 sins and no 1 is perfect(even our lord jesus christ had his faults but of course they wont put that in da bible) im not trying judge you or anything and no 1 has that right because evbry 1 has their faults it dont matter wut religion you practice were all still human and no 1 deserves 2 b treated like that im srry that you have 2 go through that

Answer #7

people in my college dont dislike me..but they do not accept me because I’m not SOCIABLE enough…it’s a sad world we live in…I don’t know nething about satanism..but my parents are south indian christians(chrisitans from the Indian state of kerela..)that makes a christian I guess..but I really do not practise christianity myself..although ihve been brought up as a chrisitan..but you know what I think people dont like anyone who doesnt follow what the majority does..or SEEMS to be doing..and parents dont help either let me tell. you…I had a chat with my mum whose a chiristian and she believe that you should follow the system put in place by the government if you wish to live a peaceful life..and she is a really nice mum…no problems with her methods of parenting..but you know..I think nething outside the norm..is met with a definite no no!!..in your case as you feel ure belief system satanism…and in my case my reserved nature..

Answer #8

I am a Christian. doesnt mean I hate you. I know not to make fun of people. but when someone put up an argument as to why your religion is false you have to know your stuff. I’ve been called the whole list of bad names and dont really care because I treat them as I would want to be treated. even though are religions totally clash I still know my morals and wouldnt care what you are.

Answer #9

I am a Buddhist, and people dislike me for that. I think the reason for this absurd judgement is the fact that they don’t understand our point of view. I don’t understand Satanism, but I respect people who are. Bais is normally based on not understanding, or simply being afraid of the unknown. Whatever you are, show your true colors.

Answer #10

Most people assume that Satanists worship the powers of evil. If that’s not true, they should change the name of their religion.

Answer #11

I guess if you worship Satan that means that you also believe in God, which is a good thing in and of it’s self.

Most people know that God is goodness and love while Satan is just the opposite, evil and hate. So, I suppose that when people hear that someone worships the being who caused all the evil; suffering and pain…in our world they probably can’t imagine why anybody in their right mind would want to.

Also, since Satan is evil people probably think you are evil too..Just like people think if you are a Christian you are probably a pretty good person…

Answer #12

People fear what they don’t understand. Most people have no idea what Satanism even is about. But if you don’t like the reactions you get, just don’t tell people.

I’m an atheist, but I don’t go around announcing it for the same reason. Even if someone asks, I’ll usually respond with “I’m a rationalist and a philosophical naturalist”. It means the exact same thing, but it doesn’t sound threatening.

You might call yourself a LaVeyan instead?

Answer #13

k I tried to post an answer and my browser crashed. these are my thoughts. people are ignorant. it happens. a lot of people fear what they dont know or understand. I used to be one of them. I am not a satanist, but I have read the satanic bible and I tend to agree with a lot of the views and concepts. if you have an issue with people dissing you, challenge them to read it front to back. Dont let anyone tell you what you can and cant believe. Dont let anyone tear you down for what you stand for. noone can live your life but you.

Answer #14

to tell you the truth I think its the name “satanist” that scares people off or makes them dislike you. Its not right but people are really quick to judge and maybe they haven’t heard of it and think you’re weird only because you’re different from what they believe. Just keep faith in what you believe in and if they don’t accept you for who you are they don’t deserve to be your friend anyway.

Answer #15

GOD is good not evil, he is smart not stupid, he is cool not absurd and satan can’t destroy or hurt him because GOD is too powerful for satan to harm him and you could not destroy or hurt him because he is too powerful for you and no one could hurt GOD because GOD is too powerful for anything to hurt him.

Answer #16

I don’t hate Satanists. I actually envy them to an extent - self indulgence is one of the best things about being human.

I just don’t agree with most of your other ideas.

But no. Hate is too strong a word.

Not even dislike is how I feel… Moreso indifference. If at that.

Answer #17

I would say because there were a lot of satanic cults years ago even today they excist but are more underground. There were cases of animal torcher and sacrifising babys etc. Thos images are hard to get out of peoples minds. If I hear satanic I imediately think killing sacrifice etc. Sorry but thats just what I think when I hear it.

Answer #18

Look sweetie nobody hates you 4real, they might just not understand you because of different religions. I mean what made you become these things in the first place?

Answer #19

your going to get that with any religion. Particually with Satanism because people IMMIDIATLEY jump to the conclusion that Satanists are pedifiles and harm animals and do drugs and all that… but in reality Satanists are NORMAL people who worship material life basically. The official Church of Satan quotes: “Besides, it is very un-Satanic to take any creature’s life against its will. It is equally un-Satanic to cloud your brain and impair your judgment with mind-altering substances.”

Answer #20

I kind of got the idea from LaVey that the whole point of using the name “Satanist” was for shock value. If so, a strong person will shake off the fear of others and stand tall anyway.

And yes, I think Silverwings is right - people associate Satan with evil and that’s not going to change anytime soon.

Answer #21

I am a Christian and many people don’t like me.

You can please some of the people some of the time, but, you will never please all of the people all of the time.

As for the reactions that you are getting, Christians, and most other folk, for that matter, believe that Satan is the author of all the evil in the world, and the exact opposite of God, and everything that is good.

I think it would take some kind of extreme turnaround, for people to think otherwise.

Answer #22

because thats what people do. everybody hates something. you cant please everybody and you shouldnt try. theres always going to be people who hate you or what you believe in. but theres always going to be people who love you and love your religion as well. believe in yourself, stay true to yourself and you beliefs. and accept the cost. dont pay any attention to what other people say and dont let them change you

Answer #23

I agree with everyone else, but to be honest, the name is an instant negative…and typically, anythiing that has to do with satanic standards turns most people off even if all they hear is the name. unfortunaltely for you, the majority of people follow christianity so I guess they hate you for the same reason washington state huskies hate the cougars. rivalry. :) but yes, people are too quick to judge and are uneducated…so consider them a waste of time

Answer #24

I admit, I’m not found of the religion itself(it’s a mockery of the craft & a rebellion against Christianity), but I’m all ears to the person if they want to talk. Do you know what the religion is about?(not trying to soundlike a smart @$$, but a lot of the people who claim to be don’t even know what’s about).

Answer #25

Satanism is like a fake religion.

Answer #26

Do NOT be a satanists it is wrong!

Answer #27

I don’t hate the people but I hate the religion in general it makes a mockery of the craft!
